Default Red-out taillights and spoiler PICS...

Here are some pic of my red-out taillights. I did a pretty good job on it. It's really hard for you to tell unless you have to really look for it.
On the spoiler, i had a really good deal from my lexus dealer for only $199.

How did you red-out your taillights? Spray paint?

I used the Universal Red-Out Tail Light Wrap Kits bought from Ebay. I really like this mod. If you do it right, no one will be able to tell the taillights have vinyl in them. Make sure after you put the vinyl , trim it right at the line around the amber part.

Was it hard to do? I assume you only wrapped your outer tailights, so is there a color difference between the inner ones and outer one?

Looks good!!!

shaolin: you have (2) IS's???

Good stuff, did you have to remove your light to do this? Did you consider covering the reverse light as well?

I didn't have to take out the taillights. It was very easy to do. Make sure you do it in a warm day, the result will be much better. At 1st you might have a lil bubles, but after a while they will start to disappear. I only have to wrap only the amber part of the taillights. The important step is trimming to make them look perfect around the line between the amber and red part of the lights

I never got this - why are people so opposed to having an orange section in your tail lights? A lot of people do this mod, to a lot of cars, but I'm just wondering why. Thanks.

Looking good, this is the first thing I did when I got home. Not a big fan of the amber.

two reasons-

1. for a cleaner look. red and orange don't exactly match.

2. people like to mod their cars and make them a little (or alot) different than everything else out there in one way or another.

I guess it's because to some people, the amber part look boring. In a lot of new car, they replace the orange part with clear or red nowadays. It gives your car more sporty looking. For example, the BMW X5 ,try to take a look at a regular (with amber taillight) and the one with sport package (red and clear), the one with sport package will look a lot better. Same as the newer Lexus RX compare with a old one. They're so much better looking without those ugly amber in the old ones.
