Default Playing DVD Movie

Greetings y'all ! Happy New Year !

Test-drove IS250 today but w/o nav system and dumbass sales were clueless on these questions:

2 questions about the new IS 250/350:
1) Is the Nav system+Entertainment System identical in 250 & 350 ?
2) Can one play DVD movie in 350 ? 250 ?
3) Leather: Is the perforated part the only leather ?

thanks

1) Yes, the Nav+ML system are identical between both cars.
2) You can play DVDs (in Park) only with Nav+ML configuration.
3) The whole seat is leather, solid and perforated.

I don't know of anyone who's been able to get a 250 + ML without special ordering it.

Cheers,
Kermee

No, without Mark Levinson you get a CD changer instead of a DVD changer.

That will not work. So if that is the main reason not to purchase, then you better not. You need the ML+Nav to view DVD videos.

FYI. This has been discussed at length many, many times in other threads.

I don't see why you cant hook up a aftermarket DVD player to the Aux input and watch DVD's on it. I don't know how easy it would be, but i'm pretty sure it's possible.

For one thing, how do you figure to switch the video input from an extranl source? That's in software, likely part of the ML/DVD unit. If you really want DVD video, you're just better to pay for ML. It will save you time, $$ and aggrivation in the long run.
