Default stalled my 350

Haha man...so I was reversing and I guess I engaged drive too fast and the car stalled. Hope I didn't break anything =/ .

you probably didn't. but you probably would have if the car didn't stall itself out for ya

ouch. so do you routinely move the shift level (reverse) when your car is still moving? won't that hurt the car even if it doesn't stall?

That happened to my old car one time. Never happened again though. It kind of catches you off guard, but it didn't hurt anything in that car.

its an old habit from driving manual, i would just put the car from R to 1 and go

Your old habit will eventually cost you a new rebuilt tranny in the long run.

I second that. However, I've been doing that to my '99 Mitsubishi Galant ES V6 for almost 7 years now over the past 120K miles and the tranny still works great. YMMV, but needless to say, I don't go from reverse to drive without coming to nearly a complete stop in the new IS.
