Hey guys, so I accidentally cut the white / black wire on the J50 connector. Does anyone know what this controls? I haven't reconnected it because it's a pain in the butt and nothing's wrong as of yet. If you guys know what it does, that would be great! Thanks.

Hello guys.
I really want to have this mod done but I'm afraid to mess something up. If anybody in NYC wants to do it for me, I'll pay for your time. I have an '06 IS 250 w/o ML. I'm in Queens.
Please send me a PM...
Thanks

I don't have the ***** to do this mod. There, I said it. Anyone in the Bay Area (preferably East Bay) have experience and want to do it for me? Also, if you can help me install a VaisTech unit too that would be great. PM me and how much $$$ you want.

White/Black from J50 is GND. Not surprising things appear to be working as normal, but you might get issues eventually.

I could have sworn that I saw talk of an adapter for this nav hack in one of the threads, but now cannot find if for the life of me. Would like to use that instead of having to cut the wires, anyone care to point me in the right direction?

just a tip for the vent removal part of the nav hack:

remove the entire vent block, not just the vent trim. whether you remove the trim first or not, the entire process becomes much easier after removing the entire vent block. it will give you easier access to the 2 top 10mm bolts holding the nav unit in and also prevent breaking clips and tabs off the vent trim.

That is an excellent suggestion.

I made a tool by using a vice to bend a short hook on the end of some scrap metal (need something more rigid than a coat hanger). Stick it in the vent, grab the bottom inside edge of the vent assembly and carefully pull. A few times on either side and I was able to walk it out.

hello to all, new to these forums. I just bought my 06 IS250 two weeks ago.

I just have one quick question, what is ML. I see that posted all the time in the first page and I have no idea what that is. Can someone please tell me, cause I dont know if I need to cut that 3rd wire for the DVD.

thank you in advance
