I just recently installed my HID kit. Haven't had any condensations yet. It's just it's been numbers of members in here and my.is website that have condensation problem , so it kind of make me worry a liltle...
My question is , if water leaks through the dust cap, will it cause condensation in the headlight housing even if the headlight bulbs are completely seal tight with the inside housing. Or if the dust cap are seal tight, will condensation happen if the seal between the bulbs and the housing are not good???

for some of you might not know. In order to change your head light bulbs. U will have to open your dust cap, and the buls are inside the headlight housing. The bulbs don't have that rubber cap like i see in a lot of the old car.

a good solution to allow no moisture in the "lights" area would be the grommet's Ive installed seen on this thread, the 7th picture down... I was not interested, at all, in having condensation....

There're 2 housing in the headlights. One is the housing that between the dust cap and the bulbs, the other is the what we can see through the headlight lens when you look from outside. I don't know if they are separated seal or are vented (the water could leak from one housing to the other)?

by design the headlight housing is NOT supposed to be completely sealed to the outside--to allow for air expansion due to temperature change (both ambient temp and heat from the bulb). The vent, however, is designed in such a tortuous way as to avoid dust entering. When functioning properly, condensation, if it occurs under sudden humidity or termerature change (such as pouring rain or car wash), should disappear quickly when the light is turned on. If there's real benefit in sealing the headlights off, car manufacturers would have done it already, instead of fending complaints of condensation.

Condensation occurs normally on a lot of cars (Civic Si for example) without any modification over stock. This shouldn't cause concern since it shouldn't damage anything in the housing. It will go away in a short time and as far as I know the condensation doesn't really effect driving.
