To me, all the exterior/interior colors and combinations look great. I'm going to buy in the Fall, and every week or so I change my mind about the colors. I could just pick an IS blindfolded and love it, I think.
The first IS I saw was at Lexus of Tacoma -- black on black. Sparkling in the sunshine, glittering with dew, the black made the car's curves stand out, and resolved the rear end shape for me - I'd been a little bothered by the design of the rear. Black did something great in that light and I saw how nicely the whole design works. But then I drove a red on cashmere 250 and fell in love with that, too.
I've owned a black car for 16 years now, and I like it fine. It gets grubby looking in the winter and looks like any ordinary car, but when I wash and wax it up again, it looks fabulous. Light colored cars I've owned didn't show dirt so much, but they also didn't knock my socks off when I spiffed them up.
