From the FSM...page NS-54

1. START DIAGNOSTIC MODE
(a) There are 2 methods to start diagnostic mode. Start
the mode by using one of them.
(b) Method 1
(1) Start the engine.
(2) While pressing and holding the "INFO" switch,
operate the light control switch: OFF → Turn ON
→ Turn OFF → Turn ON → Turn OFF → Turn
ON → Turn OFF.
(3) The diagnostic mode starts and the "System
Check Mode" screen will be displayed. Service
inspection starts automatically and the result will
be displayed.
(c) Method 2
(1) Start the engine.
(2) Switch to the "Display Check" screen.
(3) From the display quality adjustment screen,
touch the corners of the screen in the following
order: upper left → lower left → upper left →
lower left → upper left → lower left.
(4) The diagnostic mode starts and the "System
Check Mode" screen will be displayed. Service
inspection starts automatically and the result will
be displayed.
2. FINISH DIAGNOSTIC MODE
(a) There are 2 methods to end diagnostic mode. Use
one of them.
(1) Turn the engine switch off.
(2) Press and hold the "DISP" switch for 3 seconds.
Of course there is more info in the book, but these are the two ways to access the screen.

When you enter this diagnostic screen, does it say "CHEK" beside Audio on yours?

This is GREAT. I've had people complain lots as well. I've just used the menu to adjust the send a receive volumes slightly. There's also a "voice quality" setting that you can input a numerical value for. Mine is set to "00". I didn't want to change it, since it says see manual, and it will be very difficult to determine what the effect is.

Does anyone have a manual, or any idea what values to use?

Don't have my manual handy right now. Very curious to see if the "value" may make my I-phone 3G not break up with my car. It's never worked well!

Mine either ES3, nor the HTC phone I had before the iPhone. Only benefit was getting the battery life and signal strength indicators on the screen. Damn Apple for not providing an address book dump!

I found a fix for this. Get the new 8.1 Nav disk. The update will fix your issue as it has resolved mine. Good luck!

Really? the 8.1 nav disk fixes this issue? How? Is it like a general firmware upgrade or something?

Just curious cause it seems like Lexus should be providing those to us for free then if it resolves the issue ;-)

Hi Muzzman1,

Sorry to bother you again, I am not good at cars, I would like to adjust my blue tooth as well. Can you let me know where is the parking light switch? BTW, I haven't try it out yet, just would like to clarify it before starting.

"first hold the "info" button (I did it for about 5 secs) then switch your parking light switch from off-to parking lights-repeatedly while still holding the info button....it takes about 5-6 cycles...an poof the NAV screen enter yet another Service menu. From there I navigated to a bluetooth menu where I was able to adjust the Microphone volume higher so that people can hear me better!

Quick Reply: Another interesting Service menu found! (adjust bluetooth sensitivity)
