Default Warming up the IS350 in cold weather

Whats up everyone. I juat have a question regarding warming up my IS350 in cold weather. In the past i've owned a 2003 Audi A4 and the manual stated that it was not good to leve the car in idle to warm up. Id this the case wit the new IS350. Shouls I be warming it up for a few minutes at idle or dhould I just hop in and go..

I would warm up for about 1 minute and then take it slow until the temp. reach normal operation.

The only problem is, I can't do that. Any direction I go from my house after leaving the subdivision is 55 MPH. What should I do in this case?

You can go 55+MPH. Just dont mash on the throttle or redline it if the engine isnt warmed up. Just accelerate slowly to whatever speed you want to be at.

modern engines don't require idling for warmin up anymore; just drive at moderate speed/throttle for the first mile or so--warms up faster this way.

How hot do IS350's run? In my car I wait until I see the thermometer needle move a hair, which takes about ~2 minutes. All my old VW's had the same warning - don't warm the car up, I always wondered what that was about.

main reason for that was that during idling you pollute a lot and spend a lot of gas for nothing. Fastest way to warm up is to drive it anyway....

....plus you can go 40-45mph on the 55mph zone.

Of course, idealy, you'd want to warm the car up for about 10 mins
on a cold day, but realistically who has the time or patience for that?
I'm sure as long as you let it idle for about 2-3 mins, then make sure
you ease through the rpm range, you'll be fine.. Thats what i do, anyway..
Of course i'm only referring to days that temps near the freezing mark..

Oh, I thought maybe there was a mechanical reason. Well, around here if you don't have a garage you walk out to your car and turn it on, then go back inside for 20 minutes.

Default Warm up a good thing....

You want your bearings to get a good supply of oil so about 2-3 minutes should do it. The transmission (WS) fluid takes a little time to reach the right viscosity but is designed for optimum cold flow characteristics. There is a little warmer/cooler line that runs outside of the transmission in lieu of a radiator type trans cooler. VVT-i is a master tech and trust in his good advice.
