If I remember correctly there is something dealers need to do when the cars get off the truck to activate the windows- don't remember exactly what it is though and not 100% sure its your problem- but would be a good place to start.

so this does work, thanks. i've now switched mine to a) not unlock all door when i shift into park and b) once i do go into park, if i open the driver's door within 10 seconds, all doors will unlock; if i wait at least 10 seconds, only my driver's door will unlock. see how that feels for a few days.

If anyone needs this, here's the PDF file for the (LPS) 2006 IS 250/350 personalized settings. http://www.lexus.com/assets/models/w...ectionForm.pdf

Default Lock/Unlock when done

Isn't this supposed to lock/unlock the doors to signal the change has been made? I have tried many times...and no luck

i'm really liking this setting, if i have to get something out of the backseat when i open my door quickly, the back door unlocks. when i arrive some place and will be leaving my car, all i have to do is take a few seconds to get out and only my door will unlock when i pull the handle.

as was stated above, you have to time the sequence to get the new settings to take exactly. you may want to count the seconds aloud precisely. it does work but you have to be precise and persistant and the new settings will confirm by signaling back to you.

Its strange to me that this setting is so difficult to perform. So far all the other settings like the tach and spedo setting, prefered door/wheel/mirror, etc have been super simple.

Default 5 seconds is the key

And ONLY 5 seconds..don't rely on counting to five...use a stopwatch or a second hand on a watch...man this sucker is sensitive.

This group is great! Got my 350 in April, and tried several times to change the 'unlock when park' thing, and even called the dealer. All they could say was "some people have gotten it to work". But, the EXACTLY 5 seconds tip did the trick. Thanks to all you guys!

I would love for my car to not unlock all doors at once when you shift the car to park. Instead I would like for it to wait until the driver shuts off the engine and open his driver's door.

Manual says you can adjust to this so I will keep trying.

All I can think of is the *automatic tranmission only...which "could" mean that these are the functions for the auto and the other functions are NOT available to the auto.
Where is this in the manual? I've been looking for this in my owner's manual.
