Oil change before 1000miles?
I was wondering what people's thoughts were on changing the oil before 1000 miles. I have about 800miles on my is350, and am bringing the car into the dealership cuz I noticed a stain on the car after I bought it. They're fixing the stain for me but was wondering if I should just go and do the oil change right now. The dealership is 20 miles away from me, so going back is kind of a pain.
What do you guys think?

There's some people who believe its better to change early, but Lexus recommends it every 5,000 miles. It's your car anyway, do whatever makes you happy. I'm just giving you my opinion that I wouldn't do it, it seems kind of a waste to me.

If it makes you happy then do the oil change.
Everyone on here has their own thoughts about oil change intervals and engine break ins. Just do whatever makes you happy.
I personally would change it btw 2-3k miles. Or less, depending on my mood.

The recommended 5k intervals that Lexus recommends is plenty. A little more than often is overkill. Take it from the person that drives 35k miles a year. My just over 2 year old IS300 has 75K miles and have been using the 5k method since day one.
