Default Bluetooth without NAV?

My first time posting a new thread. Planning to get an IS350 with premium luxury package but without NAV as it is not available here in Hawaii. I was wondering if there was a way to get Bluetooth phone to work without the NAV.

If you don't have nav, then there is no way to make bluetooth work with the factory system. Bluetooth is part of the navigation system. Anyway, the only other option you have is probably to go the aftermarket route, which I know they are out there, but I can't help you anymore than that.

Unfortunately for him, there is no way to get the nav unless he pay an extra $1000 to buy from out of state and ship it back to Hawaii. Then he still would have a nav system that doesn't work until Lexus offeres the maps that he needs. So, if bluetooth is part of nav only he is just out of luck.

Thanks for the replies. What aftermarket system would work well with this car?

A better question might be which Bluetooth kits will work with your phone and what features do your want?. You might check the Howard phone forums and also search this and other Lexus forums. There have been a lot of threads on Bluetooth kits with a few detailed instructions, some with photos, of how the kits were installed.

I've installed several non-Bluetooth phone kits and it looks no more difficult and may be easier to install a Bluetooth kit. For example, you likely won't be installing an external antenna with a Bluetooth kit.

Here is a kit with a color LCD from Parrot which should be available soon: http://www.parrot.biz/products/index.php?id=3200

Watch the "3200 LS-COLOR video" - it's cute. They have lots of other kits - some quite inexpensive.
