Can I ask what that button is? when you push the brakes does that button get pushed? or is it the other way around?
So if I put somthiing in between the yellow and blue thing will it help activate my brakes faster?
I'm trying to see if thats the culpruit for my brake light problem!!!!!

Edit: actually reading post #30 I think its the other way around... when you push on the brakes it doesnt push on that yellow button anymore... meaning once that button is released the brake lights come on.
Am I right? Can you confirm this CaymanDive?

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll check into it now that I know what that button does and see if it can be adjusted to make the brake lights light up earlier into the pedal travel.

Heres how I do it and it works 100% of the time:
1. Start the car up and keep holding the foot brake.
2. While still holding the foot brake, press the e-brake until it lights up on the dash BRAKE. Let go until it does not show the BRAKE no more, do it twice and on the second time, hold it.
3. While still holding the e-brake, let go of the foot brake. Press the foot brake, let it go and then press it again and hold it.
4. Repeat Step 2.
5. Repeat Step 3 and the car with squiggly lines should light up. If not, repeat Steps 2 and 3.

That switch is what is called a double throw normally closed switch. In other words it makes connections when it's not pressed. It is adjustable for height. In fact if you cycle it too fast, the ECU won't register it as a pulse as I found out. There must be a slow debouncing circuit buffering the ECU.
