Default Now or Later?

I'm hoping to pick up a 250 RWD Auto in the near future.
Let's say that I would like the new car in January, should i go ahead and custom order one now, or do you think i'll be able to find one on the lot or thru a dealer search at that time? I'll probably only want the LL luxury package. Although i am still on the fence about nav and ML.
Right now the houston area allocation is only showing the premium package and 18" wheels as options. Also, I would like to get $500 to $1000 off msrp just out of principle. The markup on this car is insane.

So pros/cons of ordering now or waiting till later?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

p.s. - this is my first post. seems like a nice forum. hopefully i'll be a "real" member some day soon.

If you can wait, I would wait. I am probably going to have to wait. Hopefully, my dying car can last till I pick up a 350. 172K miles, just not that young anymore.

I think if you do a custom order, you have to pay MSRP. Check with your dealer.
