Default NE 1 hardwired a radar detector in 06 IS

I read the posts on the other ClubLexus forums about hardwiring a radar detector in other models of Lexus. Wondering if NE 1 has hardwired a 250/350? Any surprises? What wires did you connect to? any DIY info would be appreciated.

Excellent question!

I have a BEL Pro RX65 that I would like to hardwire. I've been struggling with where to mount it

Default v1 hardwire

went into the fuse block on the driver's side. no problem, just need to find a fuse that isn't hot when the ignition is off.

Have you completed this yet. I also need some input on mounting my V1.

I already know where I will mount the V1, it worked well in my last vehicle. If you have the newest slim model, it won't be so intrusive. Over the driver's head, high up on the windshield, to the right, next to the mirror. Using the suction cup mount and I will try to tuck the power cord under the headliner. My remote mounting kit is coming next week from Valentine, this will let me hook up directly into the fusebox...as stated above hoping to find a fuse that is hot only when ignition is ON.

Right now I have the V1 in the windshield centered with coil cord going straight down...into cigarette lighter socket. Not very cool but as I'm sure you're aware, you can't drive without a radar detector LOL.

I wanted to mount mine up near the mirror but it has all of the bumps up there, apparently to keep the sun out of the driver's eyes. It would have to be below the mirror which isn't as desirable as putting it above the mirror (IMO).
