250AWD Test Drive
I called a few local dealersyesterday and they all had cars to drive.
The one closest to my office said I could drive both the 250 AWD and the 350 so off I go.
First off the, they would not take the 350 off the floor so points off for their honest communication (and the sales manager was the one who said no proble to dirving the 350 when I called).
Anyway, they had a black on black 250 awd with nav (but no HIDs) that listed around 39.
The car is top shelf in looks to me The interior is luxe all the way. The seats are comfy yet supportive. The only interior beef is the hump under your right leg.
Now for a drive, smooth over all surfaces, great control in the wet and for most folks a wonderful all around car.
The salesman took me to an empty parking lot and made me autocross the thing (until nausea started to set in).
Where it did not make the grade for me was:
The power, the engines sounds real fine, spins easily but lacks thrust.
The braking, though pedal feel is solid and it brakes straight and steadily, it does not clamp the car down to a stop as I would like the the nose dives quite a bit.
The tires, the 17 inch Bridgestone 92s squeeled on turns (and get poor reviews on the Tirerack).
Today I went to another dealer and they had a 350 with the Performance Package. Next step, test driving one of those.

Tony,
I drove the car in Northborough.
The 350 with the performance package is in Watertown.
I plan to go to either IRA or Chambers to drive the 350 tomorrow.
Bruce,
I agree with you regarding the not making up part.
Their chance of earning my business went in the circular bin.
