maybe I am wrong, but I thought you can turn the traction control off, just not the stability part of the program???

Default He also mentions that he drove an IS250 AWD MANUAL

Surprised no one else caught that one. He must have been driving a 250 RWD Manual, since he comments on changing the gears himself. Pretty big error to make though.

maybe he ment with the paddles, or with the up shifts and down shifts

But he even mentions how he was disappointed in the paddles and the automatic in the 350. The article seems kind of fishy to me. He says how he turns off the traction control, doesn't even mention VDIM, and mixes up a RWD with an AWD? I think he also said something about fishtailing, and spinning out? Does VDIM even allow you to do anything remotely similiar to that?

VDIM will let you slide the rear a little, and you can turn trac off, but if it feels enough slippage it will turn back on
