IS vs. TL/TSX, others

Look at this pic and the rear leg room it appears to have behind the driver...then look at the driver's seat position. Looks pretty decent to me.

Right now, I'm in a huge IS adoration mood, and that pic just whets my appetite further....there are shades of the SC's plush luxury in that pic...absolutely wonderful.

But the Illuminated Scuff Plate pic is no longer on Lexus UK website. But someone mentoned that the RX & SC430 has the same illuminated scuff plates but in a different color. Wonder if one of our buddies who have this car could post a pic to give us an idea of what it looks like?

Speaking of the TSX, my family and I went to test drive it the other day and it was fine, one thing though, the optional NAVI system in the trunk is housed in the upper inside of the trunk, with cords hanging down!!! You have to be careful when putting in large luggage, etc to not hit that contraption. Very unbecoming....
...makes me think that other luxury cars, with the trunk fittings carefully covered and protected, are far superior.

For the most part, you guys are hitting it right on the dot. For a FWD, 3200 lb. sedan, the TSX is pretty impressive. Now, it ain't no 3 Series with ZSP, but it can compete with your standard 325i. One thing I have done many times is, while taking a hard corner and pushing to overcome the understeer of the front wheels, the rear end just slips away and I end up with a severe case of oversteer. The car is fun to play with and really is great for someone who wants good road feel. Again, though, FWD kills what it can do.
As for the TL, my dad is in love with this thing because it is much more comfortable compared to the TSX. Larger, softer suspension, more pep from the extra 2 cylinders. In this case, though, the FWD really hurts, because there is major torque steer with 270 HP going to the front wheels. I have never driven the "A-Spec" variant, which many critics say makes a pretty impressive difference.
Now maybe my tastes will change (I'm only 17, don't plan on having my own car/ buy my own car in a while), but I love the IS and BMW 3 because they deliver in luxury, space, practicality, and performance. If I were in the market with around 30k, I think I'd go with the TSX again. However, for around 40k, I really think the IS is the best buy; the 3 is great, but the interior is meh, the reliability hasn't been proven, and for the price, you can get an IS350 when it comes out and save some money for some other goodies.
I'm praising Toyota for the new IS, it looks great and I'm sure it will give the 3 a hell of a fight (more than the new GS gave the 5). Now it's time to convince dad to get an IS350 over a TL
