I hope there is real metal such as that used in the RX 400h.
Then again, the painted plastic and even the so called wood trim veneer in the RX isn't exactly great looking. I love the wood steering wheel, but the rest of the wood in the center console and shifter area actually look like fake wood. It really wasn't until I took it apart that I realized that there is a very thin piece of real wood layered on top of plastic, thin aluminum, and coated with some sort of clear coat or epoxy. The painted silver parts on the RX are not that great either.

As for the IS, I still rather have the dark colored wood (Not black wood) with black interior. That is my top interior combo with any car.

Nice pic. I hope its real aluminum too, just for the sake that a luxury car should have REAL items, not fake ones.

Okay we now get to see a close-up of the non-wood trim.

Again, the Japanese model get to have such features as TV and MD player.

Anyone can make out what that "AUTO P" button next to the left radio **** does? Never seen such a wording before.

The button is in the GS too:

WOW those pics look sweet!!!! In the IS one, I can't tell whether that is real metal or plastic. But the shifter sure looks good!

I guess it might be "Auto programming" for TV/Radio/SAT channels.

From the color it looks plastic to me.

Will have to wait to see in person but the wood might be richer looking, I was hoping they could make the aluminum really sporty looking, that color looks kinda drab, it matches the same color around the nav buttons. I do like the shifter chrome though.

Plastic in itself is not a problem especially high grade plastic, but PAINTED plastic to simulate metal does makes a car looks cheap if there are too much of them, & I guess I'm a little self-concious with the painted plastic in my G35c especially after they've upgraded to real alumium for 05 models.

BMW 330 with wood trim interior is quite common & it certainly does not make it less of a sports sedan
Hey, both 3 series & IS250/350 are classified as entry level LUXURY sports sedan right ?

It also depends on how the *metal* feels.
