My guesses for prices:

IS250: $31,000 base, $37,000 fully loaded (without PCS)
IS250 AWD: $33,000 base, $39,000 fully loaded (without PCS)
IS350: $35,000 base, $42,000 fully loaded (without PCS)

PCS will be a $2000 special order option.

Hopefully, I'm wrong, and the prices will be lower than that. I really like the car inside and out, definitely more than the GS.

The only problem with those gueses is that if Lexus follows the GS strategy of not having any base car you won't be able to find an IS250 under 33-34K at which point both the TL and G35 are less expensive with more features and lots more HP. And as is the case with the GS, the invoice won't go up that much but the MSRP and the actual selling price will.

As good as the car seems, you won't get many BMW defectors if they are priced the same.

I actually tend to disagree, have you seen the interior of the new E90? It's just plain ugly, having been a owner of a E46 for the past 6 years I will not buy the new E90 primarily because of the interior of the E90, it's not driver oriented at all, very flat & boring looking. I'm also not crazy with the looks of the exterior either. There are alot of Bimmer owners that dislike the E90 and the new IS could deflect those.

The interior of the new IS is much better looking at least to my eyes.

ummm if that's true then i think the price difference are too narrow. for example if you look at the new gs, the gs300 and the gs430 has a huge gap, and the gs300 awd is pretty much the same price as the gs430.

if i have to guess, i would say a is250 to be around high 20s and the is350 / is250 awd to be mid high 30s. then the fully loaded is250 will be around 33k, and a fully loaded is350 will be about 40k

pushing it over 40k is not smart for lexus imho, coz' it would be right up there with the 330

I hope your right cuz I interested in replacing my wife's es300 with an is350.. I think lexus went goofy with price on the gs. I was shocked to see a fully loaded gs300 awd at 54,599 and a fully loaded gs430 top out at 62,829 If lexus wants to give BMW a run for their money, the IS350 will need to run 0 to 60 in the low to mid 5's with a price no higher than 40 to 42k --- just my 2 cents

You will have base car for IS, it is quite different market than for GS. However, pricing will not be significantly cheaper than 3 series, it will just be equipped noticably better for the same price (same in the US and in Europe).

As I said, I saw both cars and agree the IS beats the 325 on both the exteriror and interior. But the hard fact is that whatever gains the IS will make will not come BMW buyers if the price is close. As it is the BMW already has a $1K built in for the free maintenance which the Lexus doesn't have. If anything the new IS buyers might come from folks coughing up a few more bucks than the TSX or were consdidering the TL, G35 but don't need the power. While a straight 325 sedan vs. IS250 sedan sales competition will be close, overall the 3 series will have the sales lead for along time.

You'd think that with all the Bangle/iDrive bashing BMW would be in the toilet by now. Guess what - for the first time in a long time they sold more 5 series than MB E class last month. I assume that those buyers are not the E39 lovers but new customers BMW somehow was able to attract.

Never under estimate the draw of the badge.

yeah i really hope they don't price this thing like bmw prices there's. 38k for a loaded 330 is just re-dang-diculas. i am sorry but that defeats the whole purpose of a entry level luxury sedan if they price it high like that. once again you'll be selling to an audience with blue hair and canes and the young people that drive the company is going to be out. there goes your sales.

$38K for a loaded 330i? You're about $7,000 low. You put every option on an E46, and it closes in on $45K.

The GS300 and the GS430 has a bigger price gap because one is a V6 and one is a V8. The IS250 and the IS350, on the other hand, use the same GR V6 engine, just in different sizes.

The GS300 AWD is not pretty much the same price as the GS430.

GS300 RWD: $43,550
GS300 AWD: $45,500
GS430: $51,775

When doing price comparos to the 330i, you have to take into account the fact that a "loaded" IS350 will have many more features than a "loaded" 330i, along with a bigger engine.

i think you can pretty much get a fully loaded 330 for about 40k now? that's on the e46

i think is250 is gonna start around 26-27k based the fact that it only has 204hp. and the is250 awd is gonna be around 30k and is350 should be the same based price w/ 330i but will be less w/ options
