I would throw in Camry and Solara as well. I like the overall body shape, but the headlights and tail lights look to generic. Nice rims though...

If I remember right, 1 or 2 members were shown the actual pic of the new IS by a saleslady at one of the dealers at the GS300 debut a couple months back.... so if you're out there, are these accurate renderings????

I'm pretty sure Flipside, a member who has seen the pics, has said these aren't exact renderings but that the blue one is close.

I'm seeing a BMW 5 series trend going on with the head and taillights. I think Lex is hitting Bimmer market now. I looked at the ES, the GS... now the IS... all sort of resemble each other only being different sizes. The LS is the only one that sorta stands alone. But I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly love the LS. specially with a wald AC kit and rims all decked out.

Yes, like I mentioned in the IS forum, the overall car is looking close to the actual vehicle but not quite. There are a few details the renderings are missing. The tails are a tad larger and rectangular.

Could that blue car first posted, then, be the new Altezza ( with grafted-on Lexus badges) we are actually looking at instead of the new IS ? Or are the two going to be basically identical like they are now?

I gotta agree with some of the earlier posters....this car has been kept under wraps TOO LONG. Even AUTOWEEK hasn't really gotten a spy shot yet....and they get just about everything.
I know you said that it was done not to conflict with the GS at the last few auto shows....but the DC and Detroit shows are both history now and keeping the wraps on it is just wasting time now and annoying people.

^^^ Beat me to it. If this is true, and the IS grows a lil bigger, oh my Lexus had tons of time to make this car the world beater. They are trying to destroy the 3. So that means destroying the G35, C, TL, A4 and anything in its way....

The real IS will have larger tails and a little more rectangular than those "rendered" photos.

I like those shots and It has the family resemblance so we know who the father is....The IS350 will be hotter than a pole dancer in Thailand. We are lobbying for the 18"s from the factory. I am so stoked, I cannot wait to push the ignition button on this one.....

The ppl that went to the glendale event where the GS was shown, did they happen to see pics of the interior of the new IS? Everyone knows it is the little brother to the GS, but what about the interior? Anyone know what the interior design is?
