Great info Turbo'd_Wxman,

I'm trying to gather all the information possible, haven’t started anything yet just thinking it out. I don't want spend all this money and be mad with my self. I love my IS300 but I'm also thinking, should I do all this to my car or for the same price should I just pick up a used TT Supra or something. I like to think everything out and spend my money wisely. Ten to twenty grand is a lot of money! I am looking to have a streetable car, sometimes to the track but mostly for the streets. I went to the California Speedway in Cali 2 weeks ago and its pretty much any one can run, well I saw not one Lexus, sucks!

There are major advantages of the tt short block, especially the oil squirters. The GTE engine has been proven to produce massive hp with reliability. PHR and MVP Motorsports have a 1208 rwhp Supra with no nitrous at all. SRT stage 4 is spraying hard I believe.

One other thing to contemplate is the traction issues you will face. Without a widebody kit or fender flares, you will not be able to go over about a 265 tire. When I boost a bar or so, I can spin my tires to near 80 mph. I shift into third and the car gets sideways at 55 mph. 500 rwhp (or so) on and IS300 is a lot more hp than you think. Are you building a track car or a streetable car?
Well, there's a lot of mis-information that you posted, and I would like to clarify it. First, there's a diff. between a FULL GTE swap vs. TT shortblock swap (huge diff. in cost of $$). The oil squirters you are correct on the GTE block. I don't think PHR & MVP Supras with 1,208whp are using STOCK GTE internals to produce that 1,208whp figure (although, I have seen stock GTE internals make up to 900whp). Lastly, SRT Stage 4 does have a n2o option, but most of the whp is produced by the turbo and not n2o as you make it seem . Traction is correct from 450-500whp on.

What size turbo was that? I am guessing that had to be a very large turbo.
