depends on the rim, but generally i think i would like white with black wheels more.. i think.. not sure. personally though i would leave it alloy or silver, i'd avoid chrome if possible

xerox - I too have an IS & an RX330 - I've got chromes on both - I think it really depends on the body color - your IS, like mine, is an unusual color - I think the chromes really stand out on the Auburn Sky, and on the Black Onyx - however on the Metallic Silver I think the alloys are perfect

black on black is good..but black car and gunmetal is even crazier! MAkes the car look really aggressive. Its up to you though

it's really what you think, in all reality, there are people out there loves spinners, and those who laugh at them

depends on if you want the more "show" look or the more "racing" look, and as jeffket said, it depends on your color as well, black with chrome wheels is tacky, while something like yellow will get you weird looks
