clutch chatter
I have almost 3000 miles on my IS and it has developed a rather interesting chutch chatter now. I have never been to drag strip( yet...LOL) or have abused car in any way. My question is this. Are these cars prone to this or is the stock clutch that cheesy that it will chatter/slip early in its life? If so, has anyone else had this problem? Any recommendations would be helpfull with this. Should I just go ahead and install something like a Centerforce or some kind similar and will this mess with the TCS system?

Mine does that too when cold. I noticed that it's more prevalent in cool damp weather than in hot dry conditions. Once the car is warmed up it doesn't do it at all. I've been letting the clutch slip a little more without loading it too much first couple of times in the AM and that seems to get enough heat into it to eliminate the shudder until next time. Lately is seems to be deminished. It started on my car at abvout 9-10,000 miles.
