I just joined the Lexus forum so I am a noob to this and the car itself.I have a 2003 Lexus IS300. I just bought the car last night. Battery was completely drained from sitting on the used car lot for over a month. I went today to get a new battery and when I go to plug in the new battery as soon as the ground (neg) touches the rod the car alarm goes off.

Side note: I do not have the keyless entry for the car the car was repo from its previous owner for no payments so they could no get the original keys back so they had a standard door entry key made. I tried sitting in the car and as soon as the ground made contact unlocking the car doors but it didn't do anything. What I saw from other threads was people have the keyless entry so they can easily disarm the alarm. Im trying to figure out a way to disarm it also but without the remote. Also when the car was at the dealer it had to get jumped to start because the battery was dead and no alarm. May sound dumb but what I was thinking the battery in the car was so low I'm talking barely 2V. What I was thinking that maybe the alarm got armed last night when i parked then the battery died again and now that i changed the battery it maybe "remembered" that it was armed and is going off now that it has power.

Please help I want to get in my car and enjoy it already.

I am facing same problem. Did you ever get it fixed if so how. I am on day three.
