Default Picked up an IS300

Hello all. I was lucky enough to purchase a used 2005 IS300, and I'm loving it so far. I plan on keeping it mostly stock since it will be my DD. It's throwing the P0430 code at the moment, but I will get that taken care of before the smog in October. If it is the CAT, has anyone reviewed the Magnaflow CA legal headers? Thanks.

Welcome to Forums, I'm new member too. I have a 300 250 and 350. The Is300 has a harder time finding after market headers. After intense research and tryin to find a header, I learned the best on the market now is the Megan Header with Y pipe. Unfortunatly, the header is backordered but y pipe in stock. No eta. Your gonna get a CEL light. But you have several options to fix that.

Nice to meet you. I was trying to keep this car stock, but an added $300 for California CARB legal headers is ridiculous! (Part # below) I used to be a part of the domestic scene and have no smog equipment on my Trans Am. Can the CEL light be tuned out, or would I need a module like the one I saw online to bypass the code? Thanks.

There are two ways:
- mechanical unit that electronically disables CEL. Sorry can't remember the name. COBB Tuning???
- trick the O2 sensor by adding a spacer that pulls the O2 farther away.
Second way would probably be the easier and cheaper way. I would recommend this route. Less electrical work.

^Thanks! I ended up finding some CA legal Magnaflow headers. (Part number 452843 for you Californias who want to keep your car a DD) I painted the calipers this week, and I'm working on the deck and speakers today.

So the high flow magna flow headers for the is300 are a good choice, mixed in with the Megan racing stainless steel y pipe and your good. It will cost you like $1000 for the whole set up, but it was worth it, in the end. No check engine light.

I thought those headers were just an OEM replacement? Do you have pics?

I replaced the stock manifolds only, and no CEL light for 200 miles so far.

These are the Magnaflow version of the stock manifolds but with high flow cats. I've noticed beter gas mileage (probably due to the bad cat in my stock manifolds) and a little of engine noise at WOT.

Magnaflow released the part on 4/21 and I received a discount for preordering. With CA local Sales tax the total with shipping came to just under $700.00.
