Hey guys, just picked up a 2003 IS300 about a month ago. Still deciding what I want to do with it. For now it's my daily driver and I've started doing little things with it. It's an auto which I'm kind of bummed about, but finding a manual with lowish miles was damn near impossible. I had a mazda3 that was my baby until the trans took a crap on me and people kept deciding they wanted to play demolition derby with it. So I got rid of it ASAP and picked up the Lexus from a friend.

Got rid of this:

And replaced it with this:

Went back in time a little, but the Lexus is pretty darn comfortable. Only thing killing me right now is insurance and gas haha it's just a tad more expensive than the Mazda.

Since I have two more months of school left, I was trying to be responsible and not focus on my car....but my boyfriend couldn't wait and surprised me with a CF trunk.

That trunk will blend right in with that color! Nice pick up. How many miles was on the Mazda3 til it took a crap?

Thanks! My mazda started showing signs of trans issues probably about 115k-120k ish miles. I got rid of the car with135k and it was still running, but the trans was so sluggish and starting to skip 2nd gear. I probably could have just replaced the trans but I needed to get rid of it. It had a lot of quirks after a lady pulled out in front of me and I t-boned her. Car should've been totalled! So crossing my fingers the Lexus has less quirks

I also came from a Mazda, but a Mazda6. I honestly loved the car but so many issues came up as the yrs went by that I got rid of it at 100k miles a few years back. My 92 SC was far more reliable than it by far. I also noticed the higher price in gas and ins but the reliability by far out weighed the headaches and repairs. Anyways, welcome to Clublexus!

Thank you. It's actually still sitting on the shelf in the garage so I don't know yet what the plan is

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was the after 100k or the fact that the car should've been totalled. Still waiting for my deductible!

I'm having the same difficulty finding a manual IS300. Seems like no one wants to get rid of their's (I guess that's a good thing). Nice purchase and best of luck with it.
