Asking for Clutch and Flywheel recommendations for IS300 2004
Hi All
I am in of a replacement clutch and would like some ideas. My car is stock except for an cold air intake and it's driver :-). It's my daily driver, however occassionally I do have to show a couple BMWs, infinities, and Hondas that this IS is the real deal lol.
Anyway my clutch is dead. I am not sure whats in it because I bought that way from a dealer and they didn't know.
I am looking for something that will provide a smooth daily expierence but has the ability to handle if and when I step on it. Also any recommendations on flywheel replacements.
Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated.
The couple I have has peaked my interest thus far:
1. ACT TS5-HDSS
2. EXEDY CLUTCH KIT+FIDANZA LIGHTWEIGHT FLYWHEEL.

I don't think I'd put a lightweight flywheel on a daily driver again, especially with the god awful electronic throttle these things have. I like being able to coast in gear if i hit heavy traffic, and wasn't able to do that after the last lightweight flywheel I installed.
With that said, I'll probably still end up getting that fidanza for my IS when the time comes. I still have the stock clutch w/ 138k on it now. I only drive about 4k miles a year now and might just turn my IS into a racecar.

Thank you Scratchy for replying. Can you give me some specifics about the lightweight flywheel you did or din't like on the daily driving? Also which clutch did you use with it?

sorry i should've mentioned that wasn't on my IS. I put an 8lb fidanza flywheel in my honda prelude with an exedy stage 1 I think. it was fun and i enjoyed it, but the rpm just drops so fast once you let off the throttle. good for quick rev matching and spirited driving, just not how i prefer my daily driver to be.
