Hey
my father is a top Lexus mechanic and knows one of the top guys in Lexus canada (i won't say his name on here because i dont have his permission) but he was recently at the Lexus location in Cali that was developing the IS430 in north america and he said the project is still on and in developement.
i will see if i can get more info from him but he is pretty in touch with all the things going on in Canada and the States.

ok, i don't necessarily believe the guy, but i did casually asked one of the "product specialist" at the lexus exhibit of the houston auto show... he said, "no way. blah blah blah.. too fast, too much liability... lexus has other priorities..."
i'm not an IS expert, so i didn't grill him with other questions, I just said, "Oh, really? That's too bad." and left it at that.

There's 5 IS430's in existance. 4 of which run last I heard and none of them have the S/C on them. All were built as test vehicles for either TTE/TMG and TRD. None of them were built by Lexus/Toyota proper.
fact and opinion:
There's also another car which has a darker cloak over it currently because everyones so concearned about the IS430. It is based off of a '02 Stock IS300. This one has Lexus/Toyota written all over it IMO. I've read that it's under Lexus control and is being tested by them. This is the car you should try to find out about.

wow that's interest stuff. so all the is430 are now in the US? it's good to hear that lexus are putting their hands on is430, rather than trd and tte. that means lexus is thinking about putting it out. is the 02 is300 -> is430 stick or auto? that's interesting too

I believe Static911 and I ARE talking about this "other" car. I won't say where the location is unless I can confirm it with my own two eye's and shoot a spy photo. Problem is I am 426 miles away. I really do plan on going there in a few months to see what I can find out.
I checked with my local Toyota/Lexus source about whether the IS430 project was revived, but he was closed mouth this time.
The mystery deepens.

You should reread my post. Lexus is not directly involved in the IS430 project. They are involved in "another" project.
I don't know what the "other" project is for sure but I'm 90% sure I know what it is.
Oh I never said the is430's were in the US. I believe 1 or 2 are though. Don't know for sure though.
btw: the car that was posted so much at the "Ring" with the center exhaust isn't a IS430 from what I've heard. It's the "other" car.

The "ring" is Nürburgring. A very famous race track in Germany. The photo that was all "choped" up was from that track.

Guys, the silver TTE IS you saw in a bunch of magazines is not the TTE IS430, it is a normal IS300 doing development work for their IS300 supercharger kit.
I'm not making this up, I received this info from people at TTE.
