Head and tail light mods
Whats the best way to take the glass off the head and tail light frames without breaking the glass? I want to paint my head light frames black and smoke the red tail lights inside the glass. thanks

the lenses arent glass. but for headlights, yes bake in the oven. i like to bake them at 225 degrees for 10 minutes. loosen and open up what you can. once it gets hard to work with, put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes...and so on.

All the lights are plastic.
The head lights and fog lights can be opened in your oven, one at a time. I did mine and painted them, looks great.
The tail lights must be cut open, and then glued back together. Much harder than the head lights.

What is the best aftermarket headlight manufacturer for the IS300? I know Depo was good for Hondas.
Mine are hazy/oxidized, and i want blackhousing like the Sport Design's. And no i dont want to open and paint.

so what brand is gonna cost me this $$$$ then? Pardon i havent done research yet. I see the blackhousing Depo's on ebay, just wondering if those look like the Sport Design's or not.

You can get those on Ebay (the price is definitely good) but they have a flat black inside, so it's not quite like the SD lights.

^I see so the SD's have a chrome black bezel? That's totally fine with me if the Depos are flat black. As long as they look like the SD's otherwise, i dont mind rockin Depos because ive had good experience with them in the past. thx for info man.

The SDs have two finishes, one is a slightly black chrome, with a slight blue tint to them, and the other is a flat titanium/gunmetal finish. The Depos look and perform like stock head lights that have been opened and spray painted flat black. I would recommend them if you need a new pair for cheap, and you like the black look!
