Question Hood isn't closing all the way.

Recently, I got a Carbon Fiber Seibon hood, and it hasn't been working to well. I have to slam the hood as hard as I can just for it to hook on. My old stock hood was just a simple drop. Are there any fixes for these types of problems?

You need to check the latch that is bolted to the hood. It could be too short. I have had this issue a few times with certain CF hoods. Measure the ring on the factory hood and compare it with the CF hood ring. Contact the vendor and ask if they have one that matches your factory one.

You should be able to adjust the latch mechanism as well...

\In the mean time, slamming it could damage the hood. Have you tried to close it gently then pressing down firmly in the area where the latch is? I have to do that in order for mine to shut on my other car. But mine is factory and not metal. :/

Yeah, my factory one was just a firm press. But this CF Hood takes a hell of a lot of force.

I never drop my hood, I close it and press down firmly.

Have you tried adjusting your latch?
