Default ls400 brake upgrade

So Ive been auto-crossing in my is300 and upgraded the suspension, got lighter wheels, and better tires but it didn't feel like it was stopping quick enough. so i ordered some ls400 calipers and figs retro fit kit. Then picked up some new rotors from auto zone. I put them on last night and holy crap. these things are worth the money. i would recommend this upgrade to any is300 owner. definitely worth the money.

Thanks for the tip. Where did you order your calipers from?

Btw wouldn't the LS400 calipers add to the un-sprung weight? I'm assuming the rotor size wouldn't change, but have you noticed a change in handling because of the slight weight difference? If stopping power is the goal I'm sure you hit it hard, but did you install the lighter wheels and the calipers at the same time? If you did them separately did you notice a difference when racing? I didn't think to ask before, but I started considering the weight change of the calipers themselves.

Rotors are bigger, calipers are aluminum, I believe the IS300 are cast iron, but didn't weigh them before to see how much one weighs vs the others. Of course you have to add the additional weight of the bracket and extended bolts. All about what you're after and if the tradeoffs/pitfalls (if any) are worth it to you.

rotors were maybe a half inch larger. and the brakes arent much heavier than the is ones. but both are lighter than supra brakes
