Hey guys so my Master key snapped on me over the weekend and I thought you can just change the case but the locksmith told me I would have to get another key since is molded on to the case?? So I cant just change the case??

soo the actual key snapped, or the case? cant you just buy another shell, get it cut, and transfer the lock/unlock buttons?

You can go to the dealers to get another key that is already cut. I think its $100 and I just drop in the old remote in it. Im not sure how they looked it up but it might be by Vin or something. I just brought my key in and 2mins later the person helping me came out with a new one. If its the whole key and remote, it might be up to $200 for new key n programing.

My key snapped from the plastic casing about a yr or 2 ago. The case is molded around the key. After a long time, its going to snap. I'm gonna say it lasted 8yrs before snapping.

Locksmiths an idiot just buy a case for the key. I would never pay more than $75 for a new complete key and program it myself. You don't need to do that. Who ever payed $200 got robbed
