Has anyone had an aftermarket converter installed? How much did it cost for you to have it done? I already have the converter, but the shop here told me that according to Lexus it was a 12 hour job (@ $57 per hour). My buddy had the same thing installed on his and said it took about two. Any feedback I get from you guys will be awesome. Thanks....

Well, first of all, what type of Lexus do you have? Second, what type of T/C do you have? Finally, I would definitely recommend you taking you Lex(?) to a shop that has done Lexus cars before. There are many Lexus owners who've done T/C mods. and ended up messing up their tranny. If we had also stated which area you are from, I coulded have recommended few places to you also.
Firstly, as a response to the previous response, since the thread was placed in the IS300 category lets just assume that we are talking about an IS300. It is a '02 vehicle and a level 10 T/C. I also live in a somewhat small town in North Carolina so there are not too many places that specialize in anything other than old Ford trucks.

Well, believe it or not, unfortunately not all ppl think like you. Especially when they don't list their car on their signature. Anyways, best advice I can give you, since you live in a small town, where not many mechanics actually worked on Lexus cars (especially an IS), take a 4-5 hour drive to MD and let SRT take care of it. Here is their website www.swiftracing.com. Good Luck.
