Default if you have a boosted is300 plz read!!!

i have a 2002 is300 67trim, 850 injectors, and E manage piggyback. i am having a problem with the MAF. can you use a MAP, or is there a better MAF to use? my MAF seams to be maxed out at 460hp. im trying to make 600hp and i did the six speed swap. so i know i can hold the power. plz help.

1) You don't need to create multiple threads about pretty much the same thing.
2) There is a "Performance" sub-section that this would be better suited in.
3) Have you tried posting on "my.is" in the "Go Faster" section? That site has a bigger knowledge base regarding the 1IS.

the stock maf should be cutting out somewhere around 5 psi, maybe 8ish...

in fact, if you have everything for 700 hp, you shouldn't be relying on a MAF whatsoever on that car...

you do realize there is a difference between maf and map, correct? On our cars using a piggyback, you are utilizing the MAF for off boost stuff and clamping in when you get into boost and using a MAP sensor for that stuff...

To give any sort of real answer, we are going to need to know everything electronics done to the car and especially, as already mentioned, what isbeing used to tune it...

just read the other thread, going to get that one closed so there is only one...

You need to check your MAF clamp settings on the emanage - clamps at different rpm vs. airflow - basically the emanage clamps the maf signal to the ecu so the ecu doesn't fuel cut and the emanage continues on with its own injector signals...

at the power levels you are making, I would assume that you would already have both map and maf...

Ditch the E-Manage .. if your relying on that EMS for a 700hp setup, or anything substantial your asking for problems. Its old, slow and sloppy.

Buy a quality system like Haltech/HKS/Power FC .. run a VPRO with a MAP sensor = problem solved.

But post more electronic info on the car for more help.

Tell that to the Guy here that just made over 800 rwhp on his daily driven Gs300 with an emanate who has no check engine lights...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the emanage - it is just as strong as the Guy tuning it..

The only upgrade would be to go with an AEM or other standalone, but remember, you can never completely ditch the stock computer so no matter what, it will act like a piggyback....

So are you saying there is no benefit from switching from emanage to a vpro/motec/haltech?
I'm not sure what your getting at...

Im just not entirely sure what the benefit would be... I've tuned Aem and Emanage, sure there are other things you can do with standalones, but if you can make the power with an emanage, why tell the kid he has to change that, lets fix his problem, which can be done...

You mean the guy where the dyno read 950wtq, and he thought that power was accurate when torque wasnt. lol

With a piggy back you're always relying on the speed of the stock computer. Closed loop control sucks, drivability sucks (this depends on what your definition of "good drivability" is), there are many advantages to a full standalone

With a Vpro he can also eliminate the stock MAF and control VVTi (if applicable). No check engine lights, 32x32 resolution, super fast processor, 32x32 closed loop fuel control, closed loop timing.....many benefits.
