New headlight question
new to club lexus known as lexussupra on my.is... I found the shell of our headlights for sale on amazon, and was wondering how difficult it is to swap out everything to the new headlights. Is there anything that I should be aware of before attempting this?

Once the lights are off, the hardest part for me was disconnecting the motors from the reflectors. I was afraid that I might break something, but they eventually just popped off. The motors themselves release by turning them. There may be a part of the housing that keeps them from spinning. I believe I had to bend it a little to release the motor. Remember to route the ballast plug through the housing before you reconnect the motors to the reflectors. They can be accessed by removing the cap on the bottom. Also, make sure you transfer both turn signal bulbs and the city light to the new housing.
If the bumper gap under your lights is uneven, make sure you mounted it right. There are clips under the headlights.
Here are pics of the ballast and motor.
The part to the left is just a place holder to keep the reflectors from moving while in transit.
I'm sure there are a couple other issues that I've forgotten, but you'll figure them out. It's been a while since I did this, so I can't be more specific than I have been. Good luck.
