Default Misfire, rough start up? Help - SES P0300

I threw my SES this morning after starting my car... ran rough and then as soon as i rev'd a little it ran fine the rest of the day. got my obd2 scanner out and it said P0300 - "multiple cylinder misfire detected". it ran fine after that so i just cleared the code and got the light off.

I've had trouble with it starting this past week, i'm thinking maybe its running too lean, not getting the right mixture on startup, needs the injectors/lines/filter cleaned or replaced. MPG dropped to 17. any ideas for improvements? I'm planning on tearing it down this weekend, head gasket and valve cover. how do i know if the injectors are dirty? or is it obvious haha i've done tons of gaskets on tons of cars, but never had to deal with fuel systems

it also feels like its hesitating in 1st, slow response and shifting to 2nd theres not much power until i get up to about 4500-5000 rpm.

Any thoughts people?

Thanks! I'll give that a shot. I'll have to wait until next weekend though to tear her down again. just got it back together from the gaskets. everything looked fine, injectors were a little ... eh. i'll give the plugs a try though
