Cool New IS300, stance question -

I originally was after an IS350, but a 300 fits the budget better. I'm pickin her up tomorrow, black 01. 2jz-ge. down side is 177k miles.... but its cheap. I want to throw coils and wheels on asap.

my question is... I want a certain wheel........ (vossen vvs-078).. It only comes in 22x9 and 22x10.5, I know that size is fine for the 350, but how does it compare with a 300? The goal is to take the wheels and put them on a 350 next year. then sell the 300. gotta be rollin in style until then though. wheeldude.com only has is300 wheels up to 18's. I'm HUGE on the stance scene.
what is going to work for me? size wise. I'm extremely picky when it comes to wheels. I just sold my scion tc yesterday ($10k), dude paid me in cash... $20's and $50's haha such a pain to count.

anyways I'm pickin the car up tomorrow, lookin to drop and put new shoes on within 2 months. give me some ideas

Thanks

Be patient. It's Sunday.

IDK about 22" wheels on an IS300. The biggest I've seen what looked good were 20" (either Work VS-XX or BBS LM, I forget) but that car had a body kit. Biggest most people would go for is 19". Remember, this is a sports sedan.

I think even 20's are way too big for the IS300.

In terms of looks, I think twestman got it perfect with this setup. No crazy poke or neg camber--just clean.
Wheel specs:
18x9 +25 / 18x10 +33
215/40 F / 245/35 R

I don't look through the 2IS section very often, but I think most people go with 19's.

22's are way to big for an is300 and in my opinion, too large on an is350 for my taste . I personally prefer 18's on an is300 and 19's on an isx50. But the decision is totally up to you, let us know what you go with.

^I'd go with a used set of something before I went reps. You could get some used rpf1's for a decent price. craigslist is your friend

22s + stance + IS300 don't go together. It will not look good at all. The car is too small for wheels that size and it won't look proportionate. Don't go over 19s. 19s tend to look big without a body/lip kit though. 18s are good looking with or without a kit.

If you're going to get rid of the 300 in a year for a 350 there's not much point in investing in wheels or coils IMO. But that's just my .02

I completely agree, after looking at more pictures anything 20+ is awkward and to big. 18's and 19's are solid. out of the wheels i posted below... whats your .02?

Out of the wheels you posted I wouldn't go with any. The quality is poor from both Rota and TSW. And I don't believe Rotas are ISO 9000/9001 compliant, meaning that they don't meet the standardization, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Like SuthrnGent said, I'd go with used authentic wheels of a higher quality manufacturer. At least those wheels go through legit testing, have better designs, and nicer finishes.

check sites like zilvia etc. they have a huge selection of used 18s and 19s that have a decent width and offset for a relatively decent price, oh and as far as having 177k miles i would definitely check the maintenance records to see when the original timing belt was changed because it might have been 90k miles ago and if thats the case you will have to do it again soon
