Buying a Lexus IS 300
Guys, I need your help please, newbie here just sold a GS430 tonight and I'm in dire strait
to get a reliable IS 300.I narrowed it down to a higher mileage clean title Blue IS with 180,000
miles for $5k decent condition 7/10 interior and exterior. Choice number 2 I'm eyeing this
Blue IS with 100,000 miles on it for $7k with a salvage title, the car hit a curb pretty bad and the entire front suspension was replaced,I would give the car 9/10 in and out, If you were in my situation which car would you take, thanks fellas.

im guess you dont care if it clean title or salvage right? If the salvage title one is fix correctly and is running great then that would be one i'll go for. Just see how bad the damage was. since its lower mileage and the 9/10 condition. thats just me. maybe someone else can give you a better input.

hit the curb hard enough you can damage the frame, Check tire wear, alignment on wheels and the fenders. Measure ground clearance on all 4 corners.
all cars make sure the cd player works, no rust in the wells of the trunk, sunroof works, dash lights, cluster lights, pull spark plugs and check for oil, look for leaks underneath, and if ball joints and tie rods are all good. Good luck

check for bondo... i made that mistake in getting a salvaged, took his word that he replaced the fenders, so when i rolled the fenders the bondo cracked and messed up everything.

Thanks for chiming in fellas I opted for the salvage 03 IS Blue, car is super clean.
I think I put those guys in the grinder lol with a ton of questions they actually came to my place to deliver the car since I didnt have any means of transportation after selling my GS430 the night before.I inspected the suspension damage on the left rear and everything was put back together accordingly, they also showed me pics of the damage when it was in the tow truck,no frame or body damage whatsoever. Its been almost 10 years since I took an IS300 for a spin man was I surprised with its power and awesome handling ,very excited for the great deal, full leather interior not suade, aftermarket in dash dvd player low 102,000 miles Im grinning ear to ear, will post pics soon. thanks again for your time guys.
