Air Intake Help
Hi All.
I have decided to put a little bit of $$ into fixing up my salvaged IS300.
I have owned the car for 1.5 years and after a tune up it has run great.
I just did the brakes, have a suspension coming and I am putting in some yellow JDM fogs ;D
Anyway...my question:
After looking through some forum posts I realized my Lex is missing part of the air intake. I am guessing that the previous owner removed it, or the body shop did not bother to replace it. Can anyone provide the part #s I need to replace the missing part(s)?

Next question is should I replace that (is it needed) or would it be better to just buy a K&N CAI?
I want the car to be reliable with no code throwing craziness.
Thanks all!

your fine without it, it wont throw a code or anything. The part your missing will take cooler air from the front of the car and channel it into the box, without it you will suck in hotter air from the radiator, I doubt you will feel any power difference, as of not it just looks crappy.

if you want to do it the easy way (and cheaper) get a Joe Z pipe it retains your stock air box etc etc. if you want more power (and spend some cash) get the SRT intake ive had both i loved the SRT intake
but.. im boosted now wish i saved that $350 oh well
