Bought a lot of used parts off a buddy. He's about to throw more money in it of course not because its running bad or about to blow but he wants more power as most of us usually do when we get boosted.

Not true.... There are plenty of engine modifications you can do legally, as long as you don't exceed the emissions limits when you take it in for smog testing.

There was a time when cops would hassle you about any aftermarket parts they saw on your engine, but obvious things, like intake/headers can frequently be found with CARB exemptions, and other things which are more difficult to detect during a visual inspection (cams, injectors, throttle body, chips) tend not to be noticed.

So as long as your mods don't increase your smog output (ie: you're still getting complete combustion, and not an overly rich mixture), you should be fine.

Is a header worth the annoying drone? Any good, not annoying to drive with header?

HERE
Just needs a new waste gate. You would be surprised how cheap turbo kits are getting for the GE.

I can say driftmotion (Aaron) offers great support and quality parts! If I decide to stick with the GE I will buy that exact kit. Been in touch with him for sometime on it actually!

I say it's worth it but I don't hear drone in my set-up. Maybe because my rear hatch is all sound deaden. Who knows, but no droning for me.

Yea i didnt buy this car for speed. I had a 350z before this, and it was fast. This car is just a pimp reliable car, and looks mad sexy if it would look exactly like it does now, and be as fast as a 350z, i think we would have ourselves a perfect car.

I have not heard or seen any CARB legal headers for the IS, but there's plenty of intakes, exhausts that are CARB legal.

And you're right about the other stuff.

I wish the IS ecu was Cobb AccesPORT tunable.
