So after a lot of highway miles my fog lights were in desperate need of some TLC. They turned out ok, it took me about 5 minutes so I am sure if I spent a little more time they would of came better. My 2 year old was trying to help and sanding other random parts of the car so I cut it short.

I used 1000, 1500, then 2000. Then 3M compound with a wool pad at 2100rpms.

looks good man, the only downfall to doing it the way you did it is it normally does not last long, it usually fogs back up in a few months.

He's right. It'll came back and worse than before. The best way to do it is getting new fog lights, or you have to use ur hand with circular motion along with a good materials. I have to mine twice a month to avoid that problem.

Actually, if you take them out and clear coat them after they are polished, it should last longer.

yes do that^^^ or get some of that clear 3M wrap as mentioned in some other posts about doing the same thing.

Yeah I plan on clear coating them when I get the front end resprayed. The car is a weekend car now and has a spot in the garage so I don't see them fading too soon.

instead of clear coating get the 3m film. its thicker and way easier to appy

I compounded mine and my headlights. Then I used some paint sealant and layered them with a coat of wax. That was 6 months ago and they still look new.
But of course I throw on a new coat of wax once a month.
