there are a few ways of painting the calipers. theres spray paint using High Temp engine paint and theres the brush on type from G2 paint or Duplicolor

i personally like the brush on type. heres a pic of my calipers with the Duplicolor stuff.

Don't just go out and get regular spray paint though. Like mentioned above, you want to use high-temp paint. I've had friends use the brush on paint, and it chipped over time. How are yours holding up? have you had to go back over them after a while?

its paint. its going to chip. maybe has to do with how your friend prepped the area. but it will chip over time, especially if you change out your wheels or do a brake change. just do a touch up every now and again. the G2 stuff is an epoxy so i think it holds up better but it'll still chip.

if youre looking for chip proof do a powdercoat but that requires removing the calipers, paying the powdercoating cost then reinstall and bleeding the brakelines. way more work and cost than this mod should be

i like the brush on stuff over spray paint. the colors seem to be duller with spray paints

Leave it alone or get it powdercoated.

Looks like your decal was put on uneven unless you meant to do this? Don't they sell decals that are slightly curved so it goes with the shape as the caliper?

whats the best way to get the decals to stick on there and not just fall off or get caught in the wheel?

buy curved or straight caliper decals
http://www.motogfx.com/lexus/

TO get it to stay on really good and to prevent the white letters from getting really dirty, apply 3 to 4 coats of (HIGH TEMP CLEAR COAT) over the caliper & sticker. You should first apply 3-4 coats over the caliper after you are finshed painting it, then apply the sticker and apply more clear coat.. Might seem like overkill but you won't be disappointed with the result

After painting your last coat and letting it dry slap on the decal carefully and spray high temp clear coat spray paint. Put about 3-4 coats of clear and you are set.

BTW......here's where you can buy lexus decals. They also have the curved kind.....which imo looks cleaner.
