New IS300 owner here.
Hello all, I'm new to this site. I recently purchased a 2003 IS300 for my new daily driver. I've always been a fan of the IS300, and finally had an oppertunity to purchase one. At the current moment, I plan on keeping it stock. I might go aftermarket if I ever need to replace a part. I am very happy with my decision to get the car. I'll get some pictures up real soon. I hope to find some good information on this site, maybe even make some new car friends to.

I'm in south central PA in a little town called Hanover. It's about 20 minutes from both York and Gettysburg.

Here are a few pictures from when I forst got my IS.
the car isn't perfect due to previous owners, but it was a good find. There are a few minor scratches here and there. I do have to replace the driver's side inner fender liner. I'm also gonna have to restore the headlights cause they are starting to haze up. I am planning on using Meguires plasticx and the Mother's power ball to remove the headlight haze. Has anyone gone through the headlight buffign process before? Does it really work?
I also have CEL on right now, and the code is P0037, Bank 1 Sensor 2 if I'm not mistaken. I've already replaced an O2 sensor before with a Bosch replacement sensor. Do you reccomend the Bosch brand or the Denso brand? I've heard mixed reviews on the Bosch already. Any help or experience you can share would be appreciated. Thanks.

sorry i couldnt help you out with your questions but what type of plates are those? they look really cool. Also, if you ever wanna trade exhausts i'm in NYC. I have a greddy evo2. It sounds lame on an auto. Which is the only reason i would return back to stock.

The Escort hos a sentimental value for me. It was my first car, and the car that got me into the automotive scene. I've learned everything I know about cars working on and modifying the Escort. Plus I'll never get back the money I put into it if I would sell it. I love my ZX2 and my Lexus. I wouldn't know anything about the IS300 if it wasn't for me starting out with the Escort in the automotive scene. I've taken my time to research and build a show winning car in my ZX2.
That being said, I also love and enjoy every moments spent in my IS300. Someday I wouldn't mind getting into modifying it, but for now it's my daily. I do plan on keeping this car for a long time. With the knowledge gained through working on my ZX2, I feel that when the day comes where my IS might need another motor, trans or something similar to keep it running, I'm confident that I'll be able to replace it and keep going with the car.

Headlight buffing no matter what you do is only going to last a few months. I have heard that you can sand your headlights with 1500 grit sandpaper and clear coat them, I am not sure how good that is as I have never tried it but buffing will only last a matter of months.
