Here's a tire calculator for you. Fill in stock size, and then the size tires you want.

http://www.americastire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos

Lets make this your baseline: 215/45/17s, your speed is 65 mph

If you're on:

225/35 series on 19s, speed is: 66.xx mph

225/40 series on 19s, speed is 68.88 mph

You're throwing off your speedometer, as well as the mileage on the car.

Better to lower it with springs or coils to lessen the gap. Hope this helps.
thanks i was concerned about that. so basically tire idea to lessen the gap can be thrown out.

One set is running 225/35zr19. This is a good fit, but a little thin if the roads in your area are anything like here in philly....

My other set has 235/35zr19 This is a good fit even for less than desireable roads, don't get me wrong though, doesn't mean you can just run through potholes like they are nothing... Just softens the blow a little more (i think at least)... And I have 245/35zr19 for my back tires for this same set of rims, but they are too big for my car and they rub everywhere because I'm slammed on coils, for stock height you should be alright.
245 35z 19. would that size help fill the gap or is that just a wider tire but doesnt add much height

Not really sure, honestly I'm not a tire pro or anything.
What I said in the earlier post is just my setup & what works for me.

The sidewall on my 215 tires are thinner than the 225's, and the 225's are thinner than the 235's. My 215's compared to my 245's is like wow major difference, rubber band vs super thick sidewall.. I would take a picture of the 215's compared to the 245's but I just sold the set of rims with the 215's.

If you want to pm me a reminder I can take a picture of 225/35 vs 235/35 vs 245/35 if you want to see the difference. My wheel width is 8" on 2 sets of rims and 9" on the other 2 sets of rims, thats the only difference

tire sidewall is width x section

so 225 x .35 is more than 215 x .35

Default Does it matter if it’s rear wheel or front wheel drive

Do I have to find out if the rims are rear wheel or front wheel drive? If so how do I find out what the rims are front wheel or rear wheel drive ? Thanks for your time
