Cool Driver's door lock not functioning

FYI: I posted this in Maintenance thread, but didn't know about this section, sorry...

2005 IS 300.

My driver side door will not lock or unlock with my key and it has to be done manually. (all the other doors are fine). I have read that it is not common among LX owners but it was never mentioned for this particular model.

I am trying to find out if its the fuse or the relay in the door panel that might be the problem.

First I want to check to see if its the fuse before I check with opening the door panel and checking to see if its the solenoid/relay.

I checked my manual and the door look fuse is in the driver side kick panel but how do I open it? Its not visible to me....

I appreciate your reply!

what do you mean by manually? can you not lock it by pressing the lock on the door? if so, do this

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ators-diy.html

its for a gs400 but same stuff really.

My 2005 started doing this too. I'm hoping the dealer will cover it under warranty but I doubt they will.

sounds like your door lock actuator has gone bad or the cable in there is stretched/unhooked/or broke in two, it isn't a rod like most cars. the IS300 has an insulated steel braided cable that works the door lock and the insdide door handle. this happened to my passenger side door in my 04 IS300 when I had it a year ago. mine wouldn't unlock with the remote or with the lock/unlock button on the driver's or pass side doors.

http://my.is/forums/f103/diy-guide-d...-motor-414788/

it was just the motor in the door lock module..

was a $10 fix and about an hour of my time.

My 2005 Highlander seems to have a similar problem as the remote will not open the driver's door, but still opens all the other doors. I wonder if the motor in the door lock module is similar for the Highlander as your 04 IS300? I used the link mentioned by chunktwo and I think it says Toyota/Lexus motor for door lock actuator? Anybody else ever do this for a Toyota car, like my Highlander?
