Head Unit Lighting
My 2001 is300 had the stock head unit and surprisingly, the 6 cd changer still works as does everything else EXCEPT the back lighting. At night, the LCD will light up red and I can read the screen, but nothing else on the head unit will light up. Is this common? I have not been able to find any sort of fix and think it is kind of strange that ALL of the bulbs would go out..Anyone ever experience this?

Id call your local dealership. Or maybe AAC would be able to help, they have many lighting solutions for the IS.
I never had the stock unit or I'd go diggin for ya. Another option might be to remove the radio and take it to Advanced Auto and see if they have the specific bulb.

They make replacement LED set-ups for interior lighting, halo rings, they do projector retrofits. They make a lotof stuff for the IS, some of it's on the ricey side but the majority of it looks good either way.
