Default Motor swap or turbo?

I have been looking into a turbo set-up for some time and have been second guessing building up my GE. I have the auto, non-LSD.

Is the Aristo GTE swap something I could leave my stock tranny with? I plan to upgrade this just would rather do things as I go. But if it makes more sense to just swap everythng I suppose I will save longer and do it right.

Any input would be appreciated.

Leaning toward just throwing a turbo on the GE. For the amount it would be to swap everything out I could buy another project.

I have looked into SRT but they seem rediculously overpriced. Leaning toward a GT35R. Any input would be appreciated.

well i have the same question rolling around in my head and ive pretty much decided to pick up the gte internals that are different than the ge and throw those in effectively making it a gte without having to do the swap, then go turbo, that may be a route for you to take as well, just a thought

If you have crazy money, a supra swap is the way to go, but it is very expensive,$10k plus. That is why most IS's go for some sort of NA-T program. I have never sen a Aristo swap in a IS, but a saw one in a GS300 and everything worked well.

^^Agreed though I guess I'm still talking myself into that swap. I'm between building this or just saving the cash and driving this with mild boost until I can afford to just buy a supra outright.

I've looked at the GTE internals as well as an option but if I swap the engine I was considering just building one for boost. Though I also have the automatic and any transmission worth having boosted seems to add quite a bit more to the conversion.

I guess I have some decisions to make. If I do the TT I will go V160. Aristo W58 or R154.

A lot of guys have done the Aristo over on my.is/ I seen a new thread about those swaps monthly.

ya check my.is for info there is alot of it . but i would def think about getting the gte internals if your going to boost the stock motor with a gt35r cuz that turbo can puch alot of power I was looking at that turbo for my 97gsx and it was rated over 700hp lol so if you dont want to blow a moter get the internals and maybe even a 97-98 gte head

Swap is the way to go... The money your gonna put into building the NA block could be spent on a swap the tranny has to have a upgraded valve body and if you don't do that you'll end up blowing the tranny... Thats my opinion

go with the swap...remember the na engine wasnt made for the boost.....and when you want to upgrade(trust me you will) your engine is already built for boost

If your really serious about boosting and have deep pockets, the swap will be much more beneficial in the longer run. Though a properly done NA-T setup with a set goal is fine as well.

I'd say swap!

supercharger is out. I'm feeling the swap. Prolly gonna try and track down a TT block.

Im near the Indiana/Michigan line if anyone has one. I'll be more on thesupraforums.com for that one.
