Default Looking for tires....whats on your IS?

Hey I've got the 17 inch wheels...what 215/45/17 tires could be recommended? Cooper Zeon's on it now, too noisy for me.

I got Dunlops, cool tread pattern, doesn't wear funny atleast. Only tires I've ran so I don't know if they're noisy... I'd also like to hear some suggestions on what's best, for stock wheels..

the guys over on the bmw forums rave about the General UHP for a summer tire. tirerack had great reviews overall on them. i just got them last week because of the reviews. supposed good treadwear. good noise levels.

but all in all, i think most summer tires will never compare to an all season tire for ride/noise comfort.

I use the general exclaim UHP, but im running 225/45/17 all around, great tire. I'm dropped pretty aggresively and the threadwear on these tires are rated at i think 380 so i've seen little to no wear since i've put the tires on over a year ago

i have had

Nito Neogens 18 great traction and amazing if it rains like it does in seattle

pereli P-Zero nero m+s 18 amazing tire alitle fast wear on a droped car but any low pro is going to last about a year or so with some camber

BF Goodrich KDW 19s probably one of my favorites with looks cuz they stand out when you walk by a car with them pluss they handled my 500hp gxs eclipse like it was on rails

toyo proxis 4 i thing the W tread pattern hated then nozie and they didnt grip well even with a stock 95 honda accord not worth the money even my friend who got the weels from me when my car was stolen didnt lke them

Falken ZE-912 have it on my AE86 right now there a good tire for the price nice ride even stretched quite and handel well in the rain

so out of all the tires i have had plus the stock tires on my IS300 now i would rate them

1.KDW
2.Pereli Pzero nero
3.nittos neogen
4.falkens
5.last toyo proxis didnt care for them

havent had my is300 long enought to rate the tire that much but probably tie with 3-4

and a place where i found good prices is tirerack.com and discounttires.com

hope this helps

I swear by my BFG Supersport A/S- They have a really agressive treadpattern and are great in the dry and wet. I got the OEM staggered sizes front and rear so I cannot rotate them, and they've lasted over a year with about 50-60% treadwear remaining. Of course, the way i drive my SportX the fronts are wearing faster than the rear. Super quiet ride up until now, but the noise is still just slight and you can only hear it at 45mph with the radio off.

Do yourself a favor, make SURE you go to your local Lexus dealer (or someone who knows the specifics of the car) and get your alignment done as soon as you get your tires on. I didn't do this and my last set of expensive Bridgestones were toast in 8 months with the dreaded inside wear these cars are notorious for. The dealer here in Orlando got the alignment spot-on and they have lasted longer than any other set of staggered tires i have ever owned.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus in 225/45/17...quieter than the ContiExtremeContacts I had on before and wet and dry traction are excellent. Treadwear rating of 45k is a plus too. Just a great all around tire.
