Hey guys
As the title states?
Can I go one size wider on the rear wheels of my SportCross. The width is 7.5 on those.

I had for few hours either 245 or 235 wide wheels on my SC before, and I remember the space between the tire and the suspension arm was minimal.

I was wondering if anyone is using this size tire on the rear wheels on a daily basis

did some research for u on discounttire.com looks like a 255/35-18 will fit so i would say that u shouldnt have a problem with 235 or 245 if they are showing a 255 will fit.

thank you carwielde - I know wheels/tires from the IS 2nd generation fit the first generation IS. Those are wider tires on 18" and I figured they work b/c the 18" wheel moves the start of point of contact between the tire and the suspension parts higher. The suspension arm that I am taking about is angled so the taller wheel, allows you a wider tire.

I dont know if I just wrote makes sense. Just woke up - I'm traveling thru Italy

A 255/35-18 will definitely not fit a 17" wheel. If you're talking 17x7.5 I would say that you would be safe with a 235/40-17 but that's about it, no wider.

I wouldnt dare go wider than 235 on a 17inch wheel. 235/45/17 is my tire size
