Default Whats a good rim size?

HI! i'm new here. My question is what is a good staggered size for my 01 IS300? I'm thinking about getting 18 inch rims but i'm am not sure about what would be the best offset without changing anything or running into rubbing problems. I also want it to fit flush. I plan on dropping it about 1 inch in the future. This is the kind of thing i'm talking about....

18's is a good size, but it wont look like that pic. That's about a 2" drop.
Get +45 offset for a flush look.

A +45 won't give you a flushed look.

Not trying to bash or anything like that, but you do mean flush to the fenders right . If thats the case you would need to roll the rears to get that fully flushed look.

I guess you can interpret that many ways.
To me flush is the tires being flushed with the fender, or close to it without rolling the fender

Oh ok cause flush to me is as close as possible to the fender to include rolling.

That is a sweet *** ride but its a bit too wide for me. I'm looking to put 40 series tires on the rear if possible which is why i want 18 inch rims i was thinking 18x8.5 on the rear with 235-40-18. I live in NC where dirt roads are a must and i really dont want to hit a pot hole with my tires that close to the fender. I wish i could go with that setup but not sure i want to risk it.

A 9.5 will fit, it just depends on the offset.

It will be fine depending on the drop. I have 19s with an 1 1/2 drop on the front and it clears fine. You may have to roll the rear though.
